Going Sunless

The Best Self-Tanner for YOU

If You Want A Spray:

St. Tropez
Price: $30
Pros: This Product doesn't leave you with that awful self-tanner smell. For us that right there is reason enough to love it. But it also gives a beautiful, no-orange glow. The color appears instantly duringthe application proccess as well, so its easy to see where it has already been applied.
Cons:
Be careful not to apply a lot at once. Like most sprays, to heavy of an application will cause it to run down your leg leaving streaks.

L'oreal Paris Sublime Bronze any Angle self-tanning spray
Price: $12
Pros:
The bottle is easy to hold, and the continuous spray makes it easy to get to those hard to reach areas, as well as helping to make the application more even then those of lotions. The color begins to appear about four hours after you apply.
cons:
It goes on clear, so it can be hard to see where you have applied. It takes a bit of practice before you are able to make the application even without over spraying in some areas- which can cause the tanner to run and leave streaks.

Body Drench Quick Tan Sunless Tan
Price: $8
Pros:
This self tanner is instant- you are able to see results as soon as you apply. Which means its perfect for when an old flame calls you up out of the blue and wants to do some rekindling.
Cons:
Although it isn't heavy, It still has that unmistakable self tanner smell. And because its not a gradual build, there's not as much personalization going into the color you get.

If you want a lotion:

Aveeno continuous Radiance Moisturizing Lotion
Price: $11.99
Pros:
The adjustable head allows you to customize your color, which creates a more natural looking tan. This product also moistens your skin as you use it- which makes for beautiful sunless legs. Even better- it doesn't have that oompa loompa orange tint.
Cons: Although everything else about this product rocks, it still leaves that same self tanner smell.
Endear rating: 9.5

Fake and Bake
Price: $23.95
Pros:
This self tanner doesn't leave you with an orange tint, or the typical self tanner smell (we think it smells more like oatmeal cookies). It isn't streak prone, and lasts about three to four days- and looks completely gorgeous.
Cons:
The guide color of this self tanner is very dark. When you first apply, it makes you look filthy (but in the morning your skin will look gorgeous.. we promise!) And it will stain you clothes (and possibly your sheets!) So we suggest wearing something you don't care about very much on the nights of application.

If you want a luminizer:

Lorac Tantilizer body Bronzing Luminizer

Price: $32
Pros:
Because its a luminizer, it will give you that perfect JLo glow. You're skin will look vibrant and alive while sporting a darker color- a great alternative to the dried out look of some sun tanned skin.
Cons:
It isn't a lasting tanner. You'll have to reapply every time you use it.
Endear Rating: 10

  1. St. Tropez is definitely my first choice for sunless tanner. It works so well! Really worth the price. I agree with your 10/10 score for it. It saves my white legs during long, rainy winters.

  2. Self tanner freaks me out a little bit. I don't think I would ever use it, but these sound like decent choices if I were to ever try it!
