Saudi Women Defends Her Right to Wear Nail Polish

A YouTube video (posted May 23rd) showing a Saudi woman defying orders from religious police to leave a local mall because she was wearing nail polish has become viral: being shared by millions of people all over the world. The two and a half minute video shows the woman repeatedly refusing to comply as she is harassed by religious police- even after a law has been passed banning them from harassing people (the law states that they may "advise" against behavior, but that is all).

As for-granted as many of us take wearing nail polish, this brave woman has taken a huge step for all the women in her country. Its another statement of independence and inspiration that is believed to be just the beginning of a much larger women's movement.
