V-day for the Single Lady

Hey guys! I’m back. With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, I thought I would write a little something for those of us, myself included, who don’t have dates this year. Before I get started, I want all of you single girls out there to know that it is not a bad thing that you are single on Valentine’s Day. You shouldn’t feel bad about it. There are tons of awesome things that you can do by yourself or even with a group of your girlfriends to celebrate the holiday!

If you are stuck at home
Here are a few fun things you can do to lift your mood!
1. Go to any local store and buy your favorite chocolates, candles, bubble bath, and that new book/ magazine you have been meaning to pick up. When you get home, go to your bathroom and light all the candles around the room. Turn the water on to the perfect temperature. Pour some bubble bath in and hop in! Make sure to place the chocolates and book or magazine right outside the tub so you won’t have to reach far to get them. Enjoy your bubble bath and relax!
2. Go to your favorite movie store and rent some romantic, lovey-dovey, sappy, tear-jerking movies. While you are out pick up all those sweet snacks you never indulge in. Having some sweet snacks once in a while isn’t a bad thing ladies! Go home and put your most comfortable pajamas on. You know the ones I’m talking about (My favorite is an old pair of sweats and an oversized t-shirt). Bring all your pillows and blankets to the viewing area and pop a movie in. Sit back, relax, and enjoy yourself!
3. Give yourself a spa night! Do all the things you normally would do when having a spa day like facials, mani-pedi’s, foot massages, and you can even try the DIY lip scrub we posted last week! It’s nice to get pampered. Every woman can agree with that. So why not pamper yourself?

For the group of Friends
For those of you who have a group of girlfriends who have no plans for V-day, here are a few group activities that you can all try!
1. Have your friends bring their favorite cookie recipes and ingredients over to your house for a baking extravaganza! There are tons of cookie recipes out there just dying to be made. My favorite part of making cookies is eating the dough (…but shhh! You aren’t supposed to do that so I’ve heard.)
2. Have a dinner party! Send out invitations to all your friends and make sure to put in the invite to wear your best party dress. Every girl likes to dress up and have somewhere fun to go. I know I do!  You can make that amazing reciepe you saw on Pinterest the other day. There are tons of amazing meals on there.
3. Plan a game night/slumber party! You and all your friends will get so many laughs out of playing games. Truth-Or-Dare has always been one of my favorite party games. Plus you won’t have to worry about fussing over which outfit you want to wear. Slumber parties rock because you don’t need to bring anything but you, your pj’s, your favorite board game, and . Order some pizza and have fun!

Valentine’s Day can be depressing if you let it get to you. But, why would you want to do that when you have all these fantastic ideas to try instead?! Have some fun! I bet all your single girlfriends would enjoy a party just as much as you would for Valentine’s Day. Even if you are single, make sure you remember that there is someone out there for all of us. Just because you haven’t found that special someone yet doesn’t mean you have failed. It just means the universe isn’t ready for you to find him yet and she has something better planned instead!
Have a happy Valentine’s Day!!
Much love,
                Ashlie
